This is a skirt I designed and made recently. I used red gingham fabric, and used my own design. I don’t tend to follow any pattern when I’m making clothing. I prefer to use a method of trial and error. This garment is high waisted, with a bubble shape over the hips and then a tighter band that rests on the thighs. It looks good with a fitted top like I have modelled in the photograph. There is a zip on the back.

This is an oil painting in a photorealistic style. It is an image of my friends sat on the edge of a boat over-looking the sea in Majorca. It personally holds great memories, which I have represented using the bold bright colours. I particularly like the shadows cast by the figures.

This is a study of glasses in oils. I used just black and white paint to create this investigative piece into the way light is reflected onto glasses differently depending on their shape and size.

This is an oil painting of a dalmation dog. I wanted the keep the background plain, in order for the main focus to be the dog and the natural black and white colours to be emphasised.

This is an oil painting of Pheobe and Tessa, my grandparents dogs. I kept the background white, to keep the focus on the dogs. I enjoyed creating the texture of the dogs fur. The natural shapes the paint brush created meant I had to do very little to emphasize the texture.

This is a pencil drawing of my Dad and my two year old twin brothers. I used a hard pencil, and tried to keep it a line drawing with little smudging. I think it has a very good similarity, and really shows their personalities.

This is a piece of modern art. It is a silhouette of a women laid on her back. I used glitter, sequins and sewed some beading onto the canvas to create an extra glamourous effect. Against the red background I think this piece is striking.

This is a painting of my Grandparents dog Billy. I feel it really captures his character. I enjoyed using such a variety of autumnal shades.

This is a painting of my brother in his Go-kart. It is painted in oils, on a small canvas. I wanted to keep a ‘smudged’ appearance in an attempt to recreate the speed of the Kart.

This is another image of a lilly painted in oils on canvas. I like the pure white of this picture with the natural hint of green and yellow. I think it is a simple but effective painting. It is for sale in Hearts and Flowers on Otley Road in Harrogate.
