Billy
This is a painting of my Grandparents dog Billy. I feel it really captures his character. I enjoyed using such a variety of autumnal shades.
Gokart
This is a painting of my brother in his Go-kart. It is painted in oils, on a small canvas. I wanted to keep a ‘smudged’ appearance in an attempt to recreate the speed of the Kart.
White Lilly
This is another image of a lilly painted in oils on canvas. I like the pure white of this picture with the natural hint of green and yellow. I think it is a simple but effective painting. It is for sale in Hearts and Flowers on Otley Road in Harrogate.
Coca Cola
This is an oil painting I did whilst I was studying art at school. I was interested in the way glass reflected light, and the use of black and white with the flash of red for the coca cola logo. These three items are three of the typical Coca Cola containers; the bottle, the can and the pint glass. This was one of several studies I made on glass.
Mini
This is a painting of an original mini. I painted it as a 21st birthday present to my brother. I chose to keep it monochrome after experimenting using colour. I felt that by keeping it to black and white it was a more interesting piece of Art, especially for a twenty-one year old guy. It has a feel of pop art about it, because the detail is not realistic, for example the headlights; I just used the natural blending of the paint to create the circles of the light and the reflection on the metal surround.
